Little Pleasures

My son is sitting in the next room singing "If You're Happy and You Know It" as loud as he can.
It's fall, and that's the season my husband and I started dating. He always says, "Every fall, I fall in love with you all over again." It will be eleven years since that time on October 11th, and I still love it.
We were not only ready in time for the bus this morning, we had time to spare because my husband fed the kids breakfast, and let me sleep in an extra ten minutes.
My husband says I can go grocery shopping tonight without the children.
There is an excellent piece of banana cream pie waiting for me to eat tonight after my children are in bed.
Seriously, it's the little things in life that bring true happiness, don't you think?

Ok, now it's my turn for the "diabetic coma" you are always accusing Mary of putting you into ;)

i always suspected he might be gay. and it never fails, if i have some thing i am saving to enjoy later, the kids find it and it is long gone when i go to look for it.

you have not discovered the art of concealment yet, lol! or, i only have two to keep track of, in a vastly smaller house. that might be part of it. and he's not gay. i would know, as his wife, and i can say, with absolute assurity, that he is the very opposite of gay. grow a sensitive side bruce, you might find a happier wife at the end.

"Every Fall, I fall in love with you all over again!" *barfs* I'm so glad that as the least romantic girl on the planet, I got an equally unromantic man! We're much happier that way! ;) October 11 is my brother's birthday, now I'll always remember when you guys fell in love. Yay me!

Seriously, it's nice when you find that perfect place where you are content and happy. And you can look around yourself and say "My life is really nice." I'm glad you had a content morning.

well, that's the last time i post anything romantic, sheesh! you bunch of unfeeling eunichs!

I think you're totally right... the simple pleasures in life make it!
And I think that is totally sweet of John, and being that I am a complete, total, and hopeless romantic, I'm just a bit jealous! I'm so glad that you posted this... and reminded us to remember the little things!

I think it's sweet too. Awwwww! The little things get me out of bed on the days when I feel like my will to live is being slowly sucked away... lol!

well, i'm glad at least two of my friends appreciate romance. ;) and yeah, john has always said i'm a "little things" person. anyone can make a grand gesture for everyone to see, but it's the small everyday kindnesses that really make life rich.

I appreciate the romance Liz, but I will still mock him mercilessly. :)
