Okay, so I've been MIA for a few weeks now. Here's the explanations;
The ankle? Very sprained, but healing well. I also managed to break my leg in that fall, but that's healing nicely, too.
A couple of days after I found that out, I got my first ambulance ride. My doctor and I agree it was a combination of dehydration (being out all day in the heat for John's triathlon on Saturday is what did that, especially given my predisposition to dehydration) and some pain meds I took Sunday night. The two combined basically dropped my blood pressure to almost nothing, which, as you might imagine, is a Very Bad Thing. So I spent all day in the hospital with the staff (not so much the doctor, more the nurses) trying to get my BP stabilized. It was not a whole lot of fun, but I'm out of the woods, so to speak. We are still waiting on one test, an echo cardiogram, to make sure my already-weak-but-getting-there heart was not damaged. As long as that comes back normal, and except for the broken leg, after this week, I should be back to 'normal'. Or, at least back to being able to work at getting back to normal. Or something.
In other news, Jonni started 1st Grade a week ago yesterday! I have no pictures, again, because this time I was on bed rest, and was sleeping as daddy got her on the bus. But so far so good, she's doing well, and likes her teacher and class, and has already made a bunch of new friends.
Erik is Erik, which is to say, he's totally fine. We've had to farm him out a lot to friends as I'm not quite up to watching him full time yet on my lonesome, but he is actually loving that quite a bit. That's my boy; unflappable.
John is a little ragged. Anyone want to take him out for a night off of babysitting his crippled wife? Please do! I will arrange for help for myself and the kids. He really needs thera--I mean a break. ;)
Also, my dad is not doing so well. He has the swine flu, pneumonia and a broken rib. Prayers would be appreciated!!!
That's all the updates for now. Hopefully my next post will have more sunshine, and less storm clouds. Although, I do love a good thunderstorm....enough is enough, lol!!
